Children's party

The World Pavilion Steyl is a cultural attraction for both children and adults. In an experiential way, visitors are introduced to other cultures in the setting of the African country of Ghana and the Central American country of Nicaragua. Children can carpenter their own toys or make arm and hair bands, jewellery or a lucky amulet.

World Pavilion Steyl: a captivating attraction for young and old

The World Pavilion is one of the highlights in the North Limburg region and is located in an attractive tourist-recreational location in Monastery Village Steyl on the Meuse River. According to the ANWB, "The World Pavilion is one of the best outings in the province of Limburg and won the Silver Award in 2023.

Nicaragua

A visit to The World Pavilion begins with a special plane ride in a real Fokker 50. You board and the pilot provides a safe flight to another world. Once you arrive, you pass through customs and then experience the daily life and culture of these countries with films, games, Virtual Reality, simulations, music and workshops. Watch interesting films about children in Nicaragua, go to school, play a game about fair trade and learn about issues such as child labor. In Nicaragua you can also experience the atmosphere on a cocoa plantation where children work.

Ghana

In Ghana, you take a real bus ride through the country and arrive in a village. There you put on the VR glasses and experience life in a Ghanaian village as if you were there yourself. Walk with children to school, so to speak, and watch the children make a dance in the schoolyard around the Ghanaian flag before classes begin. At the Baobab tree, you can listen to traditional stories and at the music canvas, djembe sessions are held regularly. At the medicine man you will get information about the work of this traditional physician.

There is a special focus on the refugee issue in Europe. Take a seat in the boat and experience via VR simulation the harsh crossing from Africa to the Italian island of Lampedusa.
